Our Goal
It takes a team to preserve a treasure! The future of the Clapp House is in the hands of the board members of Clapp House Preservation, Inc. – and YOU. Our board is working hard with the resources at hand, soliciting the help of friends and businesses in the community for donations of funds and in-kind services to help with restoration costs.
For more than two hundred years, the Clapp House was well cared for by the families who lived and worked in it. One decade of vacancy is now beginning to take its toll. Our overriding goal is to bring the Clapp House, once again, to life!
A Promising Partnership
Clapp House Preservation, Inc. has joined forces with the American Legion Post 133 (Abe E. Miller) of South Windsor. Working together, we hope to:
• Restore the exterior of the house, its outbuildings and property while preserving its historic significance and charm
• Renovate the interior of the house to ensure its compliance with current building codes and ADA standards
• Ensure that the house continues to be cared for, preserved andused for years to come
• Establish a high-profile presence for the American Legion
• Use the Clapp House as headquarters for the American Legion Post 133
• Provide offices and meeting spaces to accommodate programs in support of the members of our military
How can YOU help us meet our goals?
We need in-kind donations by carpenters, painters, masons, electricians, plumbers and landscapers
And we need funding to pay for repair work already identified.
Please consider making your generous donation to help us achieve this goal.
