Gary S. Pitcock

Background:

Senior Transportation Engineer

Community Involvement:
South Windsor Historic District Commission - 20+ years
South Windsor representative on the Greater Hartford Transit District B.O.D. -9+ years
State Historian of the CT Society of the Sons of the American Revolution - 23+ years
Local S.W. history and genealogy researcher. Also commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher for historical and genealogy research.
Active in both South Windsor’s 150th and 175th Anniversaries including town history displays for both and main speaker at the 150th Founder’s Day Celebration. Past involvement - I-291 Planning Committee, Planning and Zoning Alternate, Wood Memorial Library

Gardening, Flea Markets, History, Travel, Fossils, Animal Rescue, DNA studies for genealogical purposes, College Basketball (Go UK!), Used Bookstores
Hope for the Clapp House:
The Clapp House is located at one of the major intersections in town and is a shining example as part of our town’s past. It will once again become our prideful welcome to those who enter town from the north. Progress is bringing our past with us into the future.

Linda Sunderland

Background:
Grew up in the Whaling City, Massachusetts
Resident of South Windsor for 50 years

Professional Life:
Built a business with husband, restoring, preserving, designing and reproducing 18th century New England architecture. Work can be found across the country and has received national attention in books, magazines, newspapers and tv.

Community Involvement:
Past president of SW Historical Society
Perennial volunteer for all causes historical, charitable, humane

Passions:
18th century architecture, art, music, gardening, books.

Hope for the Clapp House:
Each time we lose another antique house, we lose another important piece of the picture of early America. Our hope is that by preserving the Clapp house it’s story will continue to inspire for generations.
